Fine capillary lines run from a dark throat out to a lighter petal edge. That two-tone dye is the detail budget florals skip, and the reason these read botanical instead of plastic.
Greenery built into the stem
Round eucalyptus-form leaves grow along the same branch as the blooms. No buying filler separately, no gaps, no soil showing through the middle.
Stems that bend and cut
Flexible wire-core stems. Trim for a shallow box, fan wide for a barrel, or bend the outer sprays so blooms spill over the rim like an established plant.
Pigment locked in, not sprayed on
UV inhibitors carried inside the material, not misted over the top. Surface sprays wash off in the first hard rain. This holds colour through a full summer of sun.

Will the colour fade in full sun?
The pigment is UV-stabilised inside the material, not sprayed on afterward — the difference between holding tone through a season and going chalky by July. Reds and oranges always work hardest against UV, so in desert or high-altitude climates expect the deepest tones to soften gradually across multiple seasons. Anyone promising zero change for a decade is guessing.
Can they stay outside in rain, wind and snow?
Yes. Water sheds off, stems flex instead of snapping, and freezing temperatures don't make them brittle. The one thing to handle is lift — bury the stem ends in soil, sand or floral foam rather than resting them loose in an empty pot, and wind stops being a factor.
How real do they look in person?
At three feet and further they pass — sidewalk, driveway, doorstep, every photo you'll take. Lean in at arm's length and you'll see silk-textured petals. We say it up front because buyers told "indistinguishable from real" are the ones who send things back.
What's actually in the box?

They arrived flat. Is that normal?
Completely. They're compressed for shipping. Pull the sprays apart, bend each branch outward and roll flattened petals between your fingers. About a minute per bundle and the full dome shape comes back. Nothing is broken.

My mailman asked what I was feeding them
I've killed geraniums on this porch four summers running. Two sets in the barrels either side of the door and the first thing he said was that whatever I switched to is working. I did not correct him.
Full Arizona sun, no fade yet
West-facing patio, 110 degree afternoons, zero shade. Ninety-some days in and the blue is holding. I've had faux flowers turn grey out here in six weeks, so I was ready to be disappointed.
Fluff them properly and they're perfect
Arrived flat and I panicked for a second. Ten minutes of opening the bundles out and bending branches and they look exactly like the photos. Four stars only because the fluffing tip should be on the box.
Left them out through a thunderstorm on purpose
Heavy rain and real wind two nights after they went in. I buried the stems in the soil like the listing says and not one bundle moved. No warping, no colour running. That was my whole test.
Bought them for my mother, then bought my own

The mixed set is the one to get
Pink, red, purple and yellow in one planter and it reads like a wild cottage arrangement, not something ordered online. The green on the stems is what sells it. Salt air hasn't touched them.
Order more than you think you need
One set filled my 10 inch planter beautifully but looked thin in the big barrel. A second set fixed it. Read the coverage chart properly, that's my advice. The veining is really convincing.
Survived a winter outside
Forgot to bring them in and they sat under snow from December to March. Brushed them off, gave them a rinse, still standing in the same pot. No cracked stems, no brittle petals.
Good, but check them up close first
They look great from the walkway and I get compliments. Standing over them you can tell, which the listing does say. Knocked a star as I'd hoped the white would be brighter. Durability has been fine.
Fourth month, still orange
Texas summer is the real test and orange usually goes first. Four months of direct afternoon sun and it's maybe a hair softer than day one. I'd replaced faux flowers here every single year until now.
